The Doctor has left the building. Two years of crashes and frustration and motorcycles that defied Ducati’s best efforts at fixing traction/suspension/braking/engine issues have caused Rossi to hit the eject button.
Rossi will begin riding for Yamaha again in 2013 and 2014 – teamed with Jorge Lorenzo. Needless to say this is a huge (but in no way unexpected) blow to Ducati. the one thing that no-one wanted to see was Rossi on an uncompetetive motorcycle.
Hopefully the coming season will put Rossi back in the front where he belongs. If not, there is always the distant hope that he would make the transition to Formula One…….
