Twenty two THOUSAND reasons to want one.

April 29, 2010

In the 80’s I was of the opinion that Italian motorcycles were badly designed, and assembled and painted indifferently. Twenty years later I bought one. What a motorcycle. Ducati’s are beautiful to look at and fun to ride. The exhaust’s rump, rump, rump, at idle and the jangle of the dry clutch are addictive. Most owners almost immediately surrender to the next Ducati affliction – Carbon Fiber. I know I could not find enough places to add carbon bling. I’m glad that bike went away (my wallet is too)! Anyway, I absolutely love the new Multistrada so far. I can’t wait to have an opportunity to ride one.

I’ve read a ton of articles in both US and European publications about the Multistrada. The best coverage by far is a website called Kilometer Magazine. What a fantastic website. One of the few I would be willing to pay to view. Here is a link to the Multistrada article.

Very sexy machine, and an impressive article. What really brings it over the top for me is fully exploiting a Ducati’s power along the Maine seacoast, while spinning up the following track through my Midland AVPH5 headset. Rock on…

Indeed. Your audio choices interesting as always Mr. Gorshin. I seem to remember running into Mr. Soul one early morning outside the Waffle House. He looks quite different without his toupee and dentures. Apparently he was on the 13th week of a 90 week appearance at the Portlant VFW on his “Don’t Give Up on Starsky” theater tour.
