Gear Review – Alpinestars GP Tech Gloves

Gear Review

Alpinestars GP Tech Gloves

I purchased these gloves from Sportbike Track Gear. The current price on their website is $299.00 and that’s about what I paid for my 08 models. I cannot find any difference in between the 08’s and 09’s. Out of the box the gloves were stunning. They really looked to be very high quality. The initial fit was a serious problem as the gloves were way too tight across the palms and it caused me a bit of discomfort. The fit problem resolved itself by a ride from Stowe, Vermont to Boston, MA in the pouring rain. Two hours of white knuckle, high speed, traffic during a torrential downpour completely soaked the gloves. By the time I got back to Vermont they had dried completely and stretched to fit perfectly. It took me a while to get used to the last two fingers being sewn together but after a few hundred miles they felt just fine. I have a few more pairs of MotoGP type gloves and they don’t feel any where as comfortable where the last two fingers are joined. Most people have expressed frustration with the gauntlet cuffs being so stiff. Initially I agreed with them but again after wearing them for a while I don’t notice them anymore. If you want the best and are willing to shell out big bucks for Alpinestars products then I can recommend them fully. I’ll post another review after another 10,000 miles.
